I’ll second “Infernal Affairs” (and “Infernal Affairs II”) and chuck in “The Fifth Element” for good measure.

    And “12 Monkeys”.

    And “Out of Sight”.

    And “Run Lola Run”.

      Thanks for the recommendations Mike!

Quite enjoyed 12 Monkeys (for some reason it’s in my A-Z page as Twelve Monkeys, fixing that up now.) Have been meaning to get to Run Lola Run, have now moved it up in my priorities haha

A handful of my favorites from your watchlist:

    Glengarry Glen Ross
    12 Angry Men
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
    Platoon
    The Wrestler
    The Lives of Others

Also, I noticed you had some Studio Ghibli films on there. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend Grave of the Fireflies. Probably the best war film I have ever seen.

Just looking through the movies you’ve rated here are some I’d recommend that I didn’t see in there:

    Atonement
    Minority Report
    Into the Wild
    500 Days of Summer
    The Kings Speech
    In Bruges
    Training Day
    Million Dollar Baby

Atonement, Million Dollar Baby + In Bruges are in there. Not sure why I didn’t give The King’s Speech a rating. Didn’t mind Training day either.

Been meaning to get to 500 Days of Summer, JGL is great in it? Thanks for recommendations as always Josh, will add Minority Report and Into The Wild to the watchlist’s as well! :D

Man, there are a shitload of excellent films on your watch list. But here are the Top 10 I’d pick for you to crush out next.

    The Thin Red Line
    12 Angry Men
    Hunger
    25th Hour
    Eyes Wide Shut
    United 93
    Glengary Glen Ross
    The Pianist
    Deliverance
    Point Break

    • Alex Thomas says:

Haha Cheers Alex. Have Eyes Wide Shut at home and everyone tells me to watch Glengary Glen Ross so will get to both over next couple of weeks. Have to juggle 2012 films too!

  6. Josh says:

Lemme throw out a comedy I watched last night which was hilarious: Death at a Funeral

Make sure to get the 2007 U.K movie and not the 2010 apparently lame remake.

It’s such a tight movie from start to finish, no dull spots and very funny.

Duly noted, will add to my watchlist.

Plenty of films I have to see before that but will get to it :)
