This week I only managed to watch three movies, but they were three good ones! I started off with the new release of The Grey starring Liam Neeson and also got a look at This Means War with Chris Pine and Tom Hardy. Finally I took a look at an older movie that I had seen as a kid but didn’t quite remember in Fargo.

The Grey (2012) – This was a great action movie about a plane that crashes into the Arctic and the survival of it’s passengers including Liam Neeson. Also starring Frank Grillo, this had you in suspense a lot of the time, but the plane crash in particular was one to remember as it had you on the edge of your seat. If this was slightly shorter it would be almost in the ‘A’ category, but I still liked it a lot. B-
This Means War (2012) – I had heard a lot of negatives about this Comedy Action Romance starring Tom Hardy, Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon but I really enjoyed it. It was funny, entertaining and quite clever at times. It was cheesy too but that was to be expected and I don’t see why so many didn’t enjoy it. Was tossing up between B- and C+ for a while, but it wasn’t quite as good as The Grey. C+
Fargo (1996) - Canada Yaaa? This ‘classic’ movie has won quite a lot of awards including two Oscars and was quite cleverly made. Featuring a few great actors including William H Macy, Steve Buscemi and Peter Stormare amogst others, this was a unique movie about a man who tries to get his wife kidnapped so his father in law will pay a huge ransom, one which he’ll split with the kidnappers. Things don’t quite work out. Enjoyable! B-

Bit of a quiet week this week, and I have a massive list of movies including Safe House, The Vow, My Week with Marilyn, Killer Elite and Contraband as new release movies I need to see. Let alone the huge list of older movies I haven’t including There Will Be Blood, Serenity, Casino, The Big Lebowski and so much more….
Let me know which movies you’d reccomend I get to ASAP!

The grey:
In terms of violence level, what would you give it?
1. No violence.
6. Medium to violent. (eg. taken)
10. Excessive, nauseating violence (eg. Saw)
Nb. Haven’t actually seen saw for that very reason, but I’m perry sure it still fits.
I’m amazed you didn’t use Drive as your example for level 10 Mich!!!
Ummm it’s not too bad, but there’s a couple of nasty scenes with the Wolves. I don’t think it’s too bad, definitely nothing like Drive. I wouldn’t reccomend it to someone like my Mum though who is a big animal lover.
